The studio is led by brand identity designer and creative director Simon Malpas, who has 20 years' design agency experience delivering brand identity and website projects for UK and global clients.
That agency background and the network of specialists it has built means every project gets agency-level strategy and craft, without the agency-sized overhead.

Every project has a different set of demands. For smaller projects it's just me. For larger projects, I bring in trusted collaborators I've built relationships with over the years — copywriters, strategists, illustrators, animators, developers, photographers and other specialists.
That means the team is shaped around the project, rather than the project being shaped around a fixed agency structure.
I lead the creative direction and remain your direct point of contact throughout.
Before setting up Made by Simon, I spent twenty years working for Manchester design agencies, working on branding, ad campaigns, website design for a wide range of UK and global businesses. I have extensive experience in the following sectors; healthcare, recruitment, charities, food & beverage, finance, SaaS, construction, beauty, manufacturing, sports and leisure and professional services.
