The National Data Guardian (NDG) is an independent advisor to the government and the health and adult social care system in England. They help ensure that confidential health and social care data is handled safely and used in ways that people expect and can trust.
The existing logo and brand collateral was very fragmented with many different branded versions of templates and presentations. There was no consistency which really affected brand recognition. One of the key requirements was to make sure anyone could use the new design and templates and create new pieces of work, without having any design training.
The new brand needed to be cohesive with clear guidelines and a full suite of templates for staff member to use to ensure brand consistency with every piece of new work that was created. Extensive guidelines and layout grids were created. This particular grid was used to create a range of corporate patterns, that although different, still all felt like they were part of a set.

A simple clean and clear typographical logo was designed that could be used anywhere, without worrying about legibility.
